I alluded to a thing I bought last week, I got it on Friday. Well, here’s a picture of the thing in question

Kinja'd!!!

Yeah, it’s a bit big and potatoey in quality. But this is what I got. I haven’t taken it out to put it through it’s paces, but I’m glad I have it. I shot one before, I wanted one ever since, and now its mine.

That’s a big thing. Don’t point it at any puppies.

I'm not that cruel. Now, if I was in a different state and had a big backyard that led to the woods, I wouldn't mind going Watermelon hunting

My knowledge of guns comes exclusively from video games, but I don't think I've ever seen that before. I'm guessing it's a shotgun? Either way it looks like it's (probably) fun.

UTS-15, a dual tube magazine pump action shotgun similar to the Kel-Tec KSG, but with the addition of being able to cycle both magazine tubes simultaneously. It's been featured in Battlefield 4, GTA V, and COD Ghosts.

They only cost about 15 bucks on Ebay too. They do their job real well.

Ah, the UTS-15

Interesting choice.

Congrats either way.

Looks like a heavily-modded Glock 17, amiright? (I keed, but I have seen people put so much sh*t on their guns, they're unrecognizable. I'm not glancing in the general direction of AR-15 people. Nope.). Looks like a great toy and a fantastic home protection tool.

That thing have a recoil buffer in the stock? Thing must kick like a mule.

I got some cheap birdshot to put it through its paces for Range trips. I'll save the buckshot for later. I got a box of Winchester PDX rounds just in case.

Hmmmm.... I’m not sure I approve tbh, I heard people having major issues with them but was that maybe just the first batch? Also the dual tube thing just doesn’t seem worth it for either range shooting or self defense.

Do you like it so far? I won’t be able to own a gun until I’m off by myself but it’s a bit of a pain in Canada.

No recoil buffer, but the buttplate is solid padded plastic. Should be pretty good.

I haven’t shot it yet, and it’s been years since I’ve first fired it.

And to address the elephant in the room, the first gen batches sucked terribly. I have at least a second generation model, and they’ve been adding a lot to improve on the reliability function. Any problems I’ve heard with the newer models have been relegated to people short-shucking the action, which is easier to do with a bulpup design.

Oh ok, if you didn’t get the first bunch (from what I heard) it’s probably fine. We’re you deciding between this and the ksg?

No, I just saw it a gun show for 750 and I decided to buy it. I handled a KSG a while ago, and while I didn't think it was bad, I liked the additional length of the UTS more. It just felt more natural in my hands.

I’ve never seen a UTAS in the flesh. Looks nice. I briefly considered a Kel Tec KSG, but at the time they were super back-ordered and their quality reviews weren’t too great. Ended up just getting a Mossberg 500 and modding it a bit.

Wow, 750 seems like a pretty good deal for a shotgun with dual tubes, but im not sure what the US market is like. What kind of ammo are you (planning on) running through it?

Your Mossberg doesn't look too bad. I'm not the biggest "tacticool" guy around, but most of the modifications are actually good.

Kinja'd!!!1

Well, the reason it was 750 was because it was used and didn’t come with anything else. Not even sights, but I bought and slapped some Maagpul’s on there and it should be fine.

As for ammo. I’m planning on running cheap birdshot through it for range blasting, for other applications, some Winchester buckshot will do. I got a box of PDX ammo for those occasions, (Think five buckshot pellets combined with a half ounce slug round in the center)

The pistol grip and foregrip make the shooting position much more comfortable in my opinion. The reflex sight is actually quite handy compared to the stock iron sights.
